Geothermal energy as a prospect for the heating transition

Eavor Erdwärme Geretsried GmbH has reached an important project milestone. After the "chisel consecration" in the tradition of the miners on July 5, 2023, the sinking of the 4,500 m deep boreholes will now begin. Two of the largest drilling rigs in Europe will be used. At a depth of 4,500 m, a total of four so-called "eavor loops", which are similar in function to underground heat exchangers, will be installed. The energy generated will primarily be used as district heating and will cover a significant proportion of the city's heating requirements with renewable energy.
We look forward to helping this project succeed with our expertise in planning the above-ground systems.
